Post mix system upgrades

postmix system upgradesEveryone seems to be renovating or upgrading their venues lately.

We’ve been busy working alongside our existing customers completing post mix system and beer system upgrades.  Many new customers have recently begun enjoying our reliable customer service.  Furthermore, they are benefiting from our competitive pricing policy.

The hot weather seems to have left us in the southern states.  This seems like a good time to have a think about doing any improvements to your venue drinks dispensing area.  It may be a simple case of rearranging a few things for better work flow.  Maybe its time for some more serious repairs to take place in preparation for the busy summer months latter this year.

You could be in the early stages of planning a new venue.  Even if its currently just a thought bubble, we can probably help get you thinking up new ways and ideas to improve your venue.  Why?  Because its what we spend most of our days doing.  We visit so many venues on a daily basis, where we are exposed to many different ways to set things up.  Workflow is not only important to profits, its also important to your staff.  When workflow is efficient, its much more user friendly for your staff to work with.  We work alongside you and help you to best plan and design workflow efficient bar for your situation.  Not some off the plan design that doesn’t suit your needs.

Thinking about upgrading your post mix system or not happy with your current supplier?  You do have options.  Call us to find out if we can offer a more affordable, reliable option for your drink dispensing requirements.  In addition, we are fiercely proud of our back up service on both our own equipment and also our customers’.

Qualified and certified technicians

In addition to our post mix and beer systems services.  Did you know we have fully qualified and insured commercial refrigeration technicians on our staff?

We are arctick certified to work on all refrigeration systems.  Our license and certification allows us to repair our own equipment in house.  This is important as it ensures time efficient repairs to equipment with less downtime to you.  This also ensures that we are repairing our systems in the most environmentally friendly way possible.

Some post mix suppliers aren’t licensed to repair their own equipment.  They can’t repair the refrigeration part of their own machinery.  They’re required to use outside contractors.  This delay in repairs can be very disruptive to your business during peak times.  For example, during a special event, maybe you are hosting a wedding at your venue.

We can also assist you in the event of any refrigeration system failures you may have at your venue.

When you need our services due to a refrigeration system breakdown contact us.  Our team can normally fix any issues you may be having quickly and efficiently.

Need advice on where to start?  We are happy to to help out in any way possible.

Commercial Refrigeration Repairs

Commercial Refrigeration

We help a lot of our customers out when their commercial refrigeration systems fail.

Although commercial refrigeration service and repairs is not our core business, we do have fully quailfied and insured technicians who are always willing and able to try and help out our customers when an unfortunate breakdown  in their system does occur.

If you find yourself in this situation, give us a call and we will do our best to help you in any way possible.

Recently we helped a customer when they asked us to investigate a loud noise coming from their main refrigeration system.  On arrival we were confronted with quite a ‘mature aged’ unit dating back to the early 1970’s.  It was in quite a state of disrepair unfortunately.

This unit was still operational, but just barely.

At our customers’ request and for the sake of nostalgia, we set about rebuilding and retrofitting this condensing unit while keeping within a planned budget.

This unit is a Kelvinator Y72 Belt drive condensing unit over 40 years old, and it is from an era when we still manufactured quality items in Australa.  We always enjoy working on equipment that was made to last.

We are confident that with a little bit of regular preventative maintenance this unit will continue to reliably and consistantly help our customers to serve ice cold drinks from their refrigerated cabinets for many years into the future.

Post mix drinks. Keeping the fizz!

Carbonation of your post mix drinks

All those bubbles in your post mix drinks do more than just look good. They help to bring out the flavour in a drink and play a big part in how good a soft drink tastes. These bubbles are produced when we mix CO2 with filtered water in a post mix machine

An important warning about CO2

CO2 is colourless, odourless and can cause asphyxiation under the right circumstances. You need to ensure you have the right measures in place at your venue, such as installing a CO2 monitoring system, and trying to locate CO2 bottles in outdoor areas.  Keep CO2 cylinders standing upright and secured to walls to prevent them accidentally being knocked over, to keep your staff as safe as possible. Speak to your gas supplier or relevent authority for more information.

Carbon Dioxide Caution Sign for post mix drinks system

Do you seem to be using more CO2 than normal?

You may have a gas leak on your post mix system

How to check for a CO2 gas leak

1. Before you begin checking for leaks, make sure the area you are entering is safe. This means ensuring it is ventilated with fresh air, and or you are using the correct safety procedures and equipment for the location.
2. Turn off the CO2 Cylinder valve completely by turning the valve anti clockwise. (This shuts off supply to the entire system)
3. Observe the reading on the contents guage. (The guage on the LEFT hand side of your CO2 regulator)
4. If the pressure stays the same for 2 minutes and does not drop quickly, there is no leak
5. If the pressure drops steadily there is a leak on the system.

What to do if there is a leak

Try checking the sealing washer on the gas regulator flex arm connector, at the point that it attaches to the cylinder valve, and ensure the handle is tightly fastened to the cylinder.
Listen for any unusual hissing noises from the system
Make sure there are no empty BIB boxes on the system
Repeat the leak test
If the pressure continues to drop steadily, turn off the CO2 cylinder & call Refresh Beverages for breakdown service on phone 0407 802 155

The Perfect Post Mix Drink

Have you tested your post mix system today?

We believe that you or a staff member should be the first person to have a drink from your post mix system every day before trade. Why? Because if the drinks aren’t  good enough for you, then they’re not good enough for your customers.

This is your best opportunity to make sure your system is operating correctly before trade.

Go on. Have a drink.

post mix drink being poured

If you are having problems pouring a high quality post mix drink, here are a few simple things to check that you are doing right.

1st. Always ensure your glass is clean, and has no glass cleaner soap residue build up.

2nd. Angle your glass to ensure you are pouring your drink down the inside wall of the glass. This can help prevent loss of carbonation and helps maintain the ‘fizz’,  producing a better finished drink.

3rd. Make sure you add clean ice. This will ensure your drink remains cold and carbonated for longer.

4th. Garnish to finish off the drink, if required.

5th. Enjoy!!

Quick, easy and simple ideas and reminders to help you serve the best quality post mix drinks from Refresh Beverage Systems postmix syrups and systems.

Feel free to get in contact with us any time if you would like us to help show your staff how to serve our post mix drinks more efficiently. We are more than happy to help.
